Outcry Against the Patriot Act

"In an unprecedented outpouring of local opposition to the assault on our civil liberties, over 200 cities, towns, counties, and states across the country have passed resolutions against the Patriot Act."

That quote comes from a posting on, which got it from, written by Medea Benjamin.

Some of us hope that the Town of Boone, North Carolina, will join those other 200 local governments objecting to the Bush administration's campaign to erode our civil liberties. There's a local group that intends to petition our Town Council early in 2004 toward that end.
