BB- Don't you think it should be a mandate that anyone who works in govt should think govt is a valuable and worthwhile thing? V. Foxx's attitude toward her place of employment is like that of a doctor who claims to despise the practice of medicine, or a teacher who hates children. It's like having a housekeeper who hates to clean, or an accountant who hates math or.... Maybe this will be the year we can help Ms.Foxx find employment more congenial to her sensibilities.
I hope Billy Kennedy gets the support he needs, financial and otherwise. I do support him, and will be at his kick-off rally on the 28th at LaQuinta. Hope to meet some of you there.
To RV: Exactly right. The equation should have been: Money = Power = Attention
I hear that Foxx and her crony, Aaron Whitener, are running scared. Jeff Smith, independent out of North Wilkesboro, is capitalizing on all the dissatisfaction with Foxx and all the deplorable things she has done to the very voters who elected her. Coach Carter was trying to capitalize on this very thing last year, but he was too wishy washy to have much of an impact. If Jeff Smith makes it into the race, Foxx had better watch out. Many conservatives in Watauga County want her voted out after she backstabbed them with the Blowing Rock Land Grab thing (Burr is stepping into it also). Should be interesting.
I am for the ouster of an out of touch politician whose day has passed. I am tending to favor, at least in the near term, Independent Jeff Smith from North Wilkesboro. Living in N. Wilkesboro, i am sure Jeff remembers when chicken houses were run by American citizens before the "they are doing work that Americans don't want to" mantra was concieved of by uninformed American citizens ready to reap the greedy benefits of doing so.
And I would appreciate you not calling me Boulderdash. The name Boggeydosh has special meaning to me, and I do not like to think of other monikers when I use this name. Thank you.
Sorry. I meant to write "Balderdash" and use it as a description of the hash you are slinging. I will try not to use it as your nom de blog, although I think it rather fits well. In addition, I thing you need to toughen up, especially if you blog where people like me don't take kindly to the racist crap you spout about "illegals."
Maybe you can toughen up picking lettuce by day, and bussing tables at night.
Well, first I am not a racist. Illegal aliens are just that, illegal, so how am I being a racist by trying to protect the American worker from someone who shouldn't be here in the first place? You are the one who thinks of them a 2nd class citizens by implying they are only good for the work that Americans supposedly don't want. I don't think they are 2nd class, just criminals or else they wouldn't be called illegal aliens.
I would love to do some manueal labor, however I have a desk job that makes me yearn to work in the garden or lay stone like Craig Dudley. As for toughening up, I think all Americans need to toughen up and get back to taking personal responsibility for their actions. We have far too many folks in prison (not counting illegal aliens), because we are relying on the state to do for us what we find distastful. If our society would police itself in terms of morality and respect, I think many of our problems would be averted before they come to fruiton in a more insiduous form later in life. So you toughen up too mister!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boggey: I assume it is common, in your world, for an illegal immigrant to work at the desk beside your own? I never said that immigrants were ONLY good (YOUR words) for work Americans don't want. it is often the only work AVAILABLE to them.
I recind and apologise for the "racist" label for now; you have yet to prove that (although you are on familiar Rethuglican ground.) But the "Illegal Immigrant Rag" you also sing is getting old, too.
Calling illegal immigrants "criminals" is offensive and oversimplified.
The "Same to You Buddy" argument about my "toughen up" comment is also lame. Don't cry when someone takes your name in vain. Stop whining about the secret "special meaning" of your name. Who cares? I'm shocked that I'm the first to see the humor in "balderdash." Perhaps you need to use a dictionary to understand the joke.
And the final word (for now) on illegal immigrants: "Eats first, morals later" - John Gay "First feed the face; then talk right from wrong." - Bertolt Brecht
Boggeydosh - They are not second class citizens. They are not criminals. They are hard working people who are trying to make a better life for their children. As Craig Dudley said in a different thread, our corporations went to Mexico for a while, disrupted the economy and the lifestyle of the people, and then pulled out and went to China and elsewhere. If you were trying to raise a family in a place where the jobs suddenly disappeared, what would you do?
You had better quit picking on me or I am going to get mad as nails!!!!!! I simply posted my thoughts on illegal aliens. They are not your thoughts which is completly understandable. I am not Republican, but an undecided Independent. I happen to think that illegal aliens are a big problem to our nation. I quoted stats and commentary from law enforcement professionals and then added my own rational thoughts to form an equally rational opinion. And I am not whining about my name, damn you - but it is special and I want to uphold the sentiment I find in this name. Balderdash is pretty cool, but I did not realize you were trying to be cool, hence the overreaction. I care about my name - do you not care that I care about my name. That is Republican if I've ever heard it!!!! You are a big ole bully.
I know they are not second class citizens - that is what Bikerbard said they were. They are criminals as per section 1325 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. If illegal aliens are not criminals then are illegal aliens from, say, Iraq not criminals? I agree that our corporations, due in part to out of control unions, went to Mexico and distrupted the culture down there. Using the same thought process as Bikerbard, I think that they are doing the work that other Mexicans in Mexico don't want to do in those auto plants. If I had no jobs, I would go where the work is just like the illegal aliens are now doing, no doubt. When the shoe is on the other foot, and you are out of work in Watauga County while illegal aliens are doing the work you would normally do, except for half price, what would you do? I believe you would want them gone. I am just trying to take up for friends and family who are out of work right now in Watauga County while illegal aliens are doing those same jobs for a non living wage. And thank you for calling me by my chosen, sacred name.
Sir, I do not know what to say to your claims. I am affronted and it is a severe insult to not be taken seriously. I take you seriosly, but you are making fun of me which takes the fun out of this post. Now quit it or I will get very angry.
I will not be pushed around quite so easily. I have a bit of mettle in me ole chap. So take your Samsonite luggage and pack your meanness away and honor your fellow man!!! I am going to tip my glass up to ya this evening. Hearty swilling of spirits is good for friendship dear ole Bard. Tally ho..Tally ho.....
BD: Alright, I'll put up my sword for now. . If RV speaks up on your behalf, that's OK by me. Just stop being such a pansey about your "sensitivity" issues. Seek professional help if need be, and grow some hair! ;)

I know a solution to ease her pain.
I am totaly confuse about the picture! Which one is the Male or the Female? Better yet! Is this contest for the Uglyest Republican Contest Award?
BB- The solution is so obvious, no? Why should someone who hates government want to stay in it?
Well, there are the generous benefits and the pension.
Bridle- Money = Power. Follow the money. There's your answer.

I'll be there.
Bridle: May I ask JW to point you out to me? I would like to meet you, if it's alright with you.
Does JW know who I am? If not, email me and tell me what you look like. I'll introduce myself to you.
Bridle: JW registers us all. See him at the rally and ask him to point me out to you. I'm sure he will. I will ask him the same. :)

Boggydosh:
Are you for ousting Ginny, even though she rails against the damned illegals, regardless of how they helped her to amass a fortune?

GREAT campaign slogan: "Jeff Smith - An "American-plucked chicken in every pot!" :-D
I like it!!!

"Thank you for playing! Now Don, what parting gifts do we have for our contestant?"

Please, do tell. Will you post an angry face to scare us? >:o
And as a parting gift, please accept this fine set of Samsonite luggage. Good night and good luck!
