Hedging

John A. Paulson, the billionaire hedge fund manager at the center of an alleged fraud hatched at Goldman Sachs, gave $1,000 to Congresswoman Virginia Foxx on March 20, 2008. Since it's in the nature of hedge funders to hedge their bets, Paulson also gave big bucks to various Democratic power players.

Being bought off is not endemic to just one of the two major political parties.

Jerry, as i understand it the SEC has indicated that Paulson has done nothing wrong and the "fraud" charged is a standard long/short arrangement that is part of everyday action on Wall Street. J.P. Morgan will fight this to their last breath. This is far from over.

Hey JW,
Why didn't you mention the $25,000 that Paulson & Co, Inc. gave to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee?

I'm sorry, "Goldman" not J,P, Morgan. I am thinking of another issue. It doesn't matter. Ultimately they will rewrite the laws when they discover that what Goldman/Paulson were doing was perfectly legal

Are you just that slow and ignorant to catch on as to the focus of this blog??

BB,
The focus of this blog is the campaign money Paulson gave to political candidates. If you are going to assume that this blog is only about Paulson contributing $1,000 to the Foxx campaign, then why didn't you call shyster slow and ignorant -- his contributions have nothing to do with the focus of this blog either.

Biker, as you know, I don't respond to nonny mice. This is an important point that goes to the heart of Wall Street trading. I think that when the anger dies down and the smoke clears we will all discover that what Goldman did was a common practice and nothing about it was illegal. The investors playing in this pool were big boys, familiar with the system and took their risks. I just wanted to point out that taking the "fraud" out put us only at campaign finance and the Supremes have ruled on that.

With corporations now having free rein to influence elections, it will be interesting to see which candidate they throw their support to.

Goldman-Sachs donated a million dollars to the Hussein Obama campaign. What about that? How come you don't want to talk about, or mention that? LOL!!!

Hard questions, hard questions.

Throwing out names and insults again I see. Isn't this the modus operandi of the leftist socialists?

Starship Troopers is not Star Trek by the way so who is the slow one? Just doesn't get any easier than this!!

Oh, and you were unable to address the fact that Hussein Obama recieved a cool million from Goldman Sachs. Why is this? Is it because this hypocritcal concept makes you look bad or because you know nothing about it? Easy as pie.

Oh how convenient. In other words, you are overlooking what the messiah did but wouldn't if it was a conservative. Is that what you are trying to say here?

Sorry, Rodger, show me where anyone in the current administration was involved with the Goldman "fraud." These packages were put together and failed during the administration of Dubya.
If you are coming back to Watauga Watch with your usual "socialist" crap please go back under your rock.

Shylock!!! This is the first time you have had the guts to approach me in a year and a half since the socialists banned me for telling the truth. Now that you have a few guts (fleeting I am sure), how about answering the last question I railroaded you with. Here it is:

Tell us how the video entitled "No Guns for Negros is a "slick piece of propaganda" as you say. You dodged and skittered around this one, so have at it my fine friend of a socialist sheep. LOL!!!

I'm back!!!!!
