Here's how Dave's Redistricting breaks down the districts:

Solid D = 2, 4, 6, 12, and 14

Solid R = 3, 5, 7, 8, and 10

Toss-Ups:
District 1 = 54% D vs. 44.32% R
District 9 = 45.66% D vs. 52.04% R
District 11 = 43.93% D vs. 53.67% R
District 13 = 49.43% D vs. 48.13% R

What about 'Independent' voters? Or are they insignificant?

Unaffiliated voters are the largest voting group in Watauga, much less so in other places. But they do tend to break for one party or the other and that's probably how the break-down is reported.
