Losing Ugly

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx has an interview with GoBlueRidge up this a.m. She utters the words "leftist" and "very radical leftist" and then pivots immediately to point with alarm at Mexican people: "I believe the next thing that will be done will be to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants."

If you can't win on the facts, pound the table and yell, eh Madam Foxx?

This from the fine and upstanding human being who said the following things:
"There are no Americans who don't have healthcare. Everybody in this country has access to healthcare." July 24, 2009, in a Capitol Hill press conference

A Republican health care plan would "make sure we bring down the cost of health care for all Americans and that ensures affordable access for all Americans and is pro-life because it will not put seniors in a position of being put to death by their government." July 28, 2009, on the floor of the U.S. Congress

"I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that [health reform] bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country." November 2, 2009, on the floor of the U.S. House

"I don't see raising the minimum wage as helping American workers." Quoted in an article in Roll Call, Dec. 10, 2009

I will have to say I agree with Ms. Foxx and it might be a good idea for some others to wake up to what has happened in our country.  You may not care  for her, but I will say that she stood up for the majority.  Some of you look at her as vile; however, I think vile is closer to Ms. Pelosi.  I certainly hope she enjoys her last months in office.

The AMA supports the health care legislation.  What field of healthcare are you involved with?

You think our health care system is OK? Really? You think we are in more danger from insurance reform than from terrorists? What planet are you from?

Hospitals

Are you involved in direct patient care, or are you one of the multitude of adminsitrative types who go to meetings all day and wouldn't know a sick person if you ever were to see one?

I'm sure you work for our local hospitals that seem to get a kick out of changing a number here and there and bill my insurance company over and over again.  My insurance company has been billed 3 times for the same surgery I had 2 years ago.

To BRockBlue

I am an Administrative type as your refer to it.  May I ask if you are in healthcare?  And if you are you seem to be wrong about the administrative type.  If you are in patient care I hope you do not take care of a family member of mine because your attitude reflects you are anti-administration.  These type need to get out of healthcare.

We have allowed people who have no idea what Americans want, pass this horrible bill full of who knows what.  They are out for their own personal gain, refusing to work with Republicans and give the Americans what they want.  Even the Democrats do not like Nancy Pelosi

Responding to BRockBlue and Camelot

Amen to both of your comments.  I know this local hospital needs some reform, administrative reform.  Not sure how many VP's they have, but it is plenty.  The hospital has gone down hill the last few years.  Being a patient you see that the nursing staff is under staffed.  Try getting your bill straightened out.  If you call about your bill it goes to Concord, NC, which is absolutely the poorest customer service I have encountered.  I asked whoever I was talking with in Concord why I was talking to them and they said that Watauga had outsourced it to them.  They were rude and did not clear up my problem.  They were more concerned with getting the money when my insurance had not even been filed.  I am not sure what happened to the folks in Boone, but they were always helpful.

Responding to My Career - How  in particular do you think this bill is going to hurt hospitals?

The bill that passed is virtually identical to a Heritage Foundation proposal in the 1990's, and included over 200 Republican amendments.  I'm still trying to figure out how such a complete sell-out to the voices of 'glacial change' is some sort of left-wing conspiracy.

I'm left-wing as heck, and getting "leftier" as I get older.  What I want is single-payer.

I agree with you.  They are opposed just for the sake of being opposed.  I guess they think it will help them win elections in November if they can whip up enough people with a frenzy of misinformation and outright lies.

Wait, I'm American and I want this bill. I like Nancy Pelosi. Who do you think you are to speak for all Americans?
