Remember Haley Barbour? He used to share cable-news face-time with the ineffable Newt back in '94 while he was Republican National Chairman ... two Southern boys just hanging out and doin' a little bragging about the Republican take-over of Congress that year.Barbour went on to become Guv of Mississippi, and he's running for reelection this November.
His current ethical problems have not made it into any mainstream national press that we've seen. It's pretty telling that we had to go to this site to begin to get any summary (with links) to the snow-balling scandal. And it sounds like Barbour has a Democratic opponent in this election who just might be credible.
