Not so amazingly, the Southern Baptists, who sold themselves to the National Republican Party some years ago, have passed a resolution at their big convention in San Antonio that certainly breaks new doctrinal ground, warning that concern over global warming might be sinful.
They don't want the members of their congregations even talking about it.
And get this: they claim that doing something about global warming might hurt poor people. Rarely have we seen a more innovative use of the poor as a prop in an argument benefitting rich polluters.
