Congresswoman Virginia Foxx
issued a press release following President Obama's executive order calling for
background checks on gun purchases:
What She Said
“Today, in yet another attempt
to erode our basic liberties, President Obama announced plans to undermine the
will of Congress and challenge the Second Amendment rights of all Americans."
What She Meant
See this shiny object? Look at
how shiny it is! Look at it! Look at it now,
you pathetic sheep!
……….
What She Said
“Just like his unilateral
actions on immigration, this proposal is an overreach of the president’s
Constitutionally-granted executive authority. It is also an attempt to distract
from his failed policies to combat terrorism and improve the economy – issues I’m
hearing about from my constituents every day."
What She Meant
I have lots of shiny objects in
my bag (which is Louis Vuitton, by the way, but don't touch it!). I can pull
these trinkets out all day, and I think I will.
……….
What She Said
"Congressional refusal to
pass bad policy does not transfer legislative authority to the president, and I
will fight against this attempt to diminish our constitutional rights."
What She Meant
If you think I'm going to pass anything the black man wants -- I don't
care that 88% of you say you want background checks -- I don't believe those polls
anyway. Some polls are okay, I guess, but not that one. And where does it say
in the Constitution that crazy people can't own guns? Or Louis Vuitton
handbags?
……….
What She Said
“Guns are one of many tools that
people use to commit horrific crimes, but the problem of evil cannot be
legislated away."
What She Meant
Like the "evil of abortion."
You can't legislate that away either. Oh, wait!
Wow! And she didn't even mention the "gun grab." Doesn't she get the memos?
ReplyDeleteWish you'd posted a "guffaw" alert....I now have coffee all over my computer screen!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo!! I love Ginny and What she said What she meant. Thank you for bringing it back.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that voters in her district prefer her, with all her faults, over the losers the Dems keep supporting. Billy Kennedy? LMAO! I thought you couldn't do worse but you surprised me when you found a kid living in his mom's basement and put him forth as your next sacrificial lamb.
ReplyDeleteApparently he is a slow learner....I hear he is trying again! Indicating, I guess, that you couldn't find anybody with any qualifications and are just going to concede the Fifth district again!
Wow....so a successful adult software developer (with a car nicer than mine, I might add) is "a kid living in his mom's basement"? And yes, he lives near his elderly parents, but I did the same thing when my parents got older...I thought many of us here in the mountains do that. It's called Family. It's called Respect. It's called Taking Care of Our Own.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:53 is THE PERFECT VIRGINIA FOXX SUPPORTER ... a complete jerk, just like Foxx.
ReplyDeleteIts funny how yes the District as a whole prefers her but she can't win her own county. In fact I can't remember the last time she won her county. Josh beat her. Billy beat her. Elizabeth beat her. The list goes on and on.
ReplyDeleteIf Foxx is such a jerk, what does that make the loser Dems who can't even get CLOSE to beating her?
ReplyDeleteGet your crying towels out. She's gonna slap you guys down again in November!
Ignorant trailer trash in Wilkes County vote her in time after time in this highly-gerrymandered district time because, you know: gays guns and abortion!
ReplyDeleteShe carries every county outside of Watauga and she carries every precinct in Watauga except the 3 precincts in the Peoples Republic of Boone. 3 precincts dominated by university liberals and non local college kids. Billy Kennedy, andJosh whassisname didnt even carry their home precincts! (although Josh, to be fair, did carry his mom's address).
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so friggin hilarious! Hang on to you delusions!
On this note of why Boone &/or Watauga (depending on the particular past election) don't vote for her, I'm reminded of one of my favorite JW posts. He, in response to this very question from a reporter, said that although he only thought of the answer after the interview, the answer did profoundly come to him--- "because we know her."
