The astroturf group Americans for the Prosperous, which wants to free up rich people and corporations from any vestige of the social contract, sent out their no-tax pledge questionnaire to all the candidates in the state House and Senate, and since AFP is essentially a Republican front anyway, only Republican candidates answered the questionnaire.
Jonathan Jordan, the Ashe County creep running against Cullie Tarleton, naturally answered all the AFP questions in the affirmative -- no surprise there -- but Dan Soucek's responses are far more interesting because Soucek refused to sign on to three of AFP's boilerplate positions. Two of those have to do with AFP's lust to amend the state's constitution, and the other one is a pledge not to vote for any tax related to climate change.
Hmmm. Just what is Soucek doing in that closet?
Either this guy is 3/8 smart or 5/8 stupid, either way I don't think much of him.
ReplyDeleteA far cry from your previous assault on him. Maybe you should try giving people the benefit of the doubt a little more before you attempt to destroy them. As I said before, I met Soucek, and I thought he was a genuine, sincere, really nice guy.
ReplyDeleteAnother fence sitter who wants to become a career politician at the expense of society. I say we ignore his overtures towards saving the environment. The environment is a "renewable" resource anyway.
ReplyDeleteMike & Brotherdoc:
ReplyDeleteThat last post was not me. Someone is using my name to bust balls. Whoever he is, he lacks his own courage and convictions of thought. Coward!
I assume the second Bard is the original as this post makes less sense than the first.
ReplyDeleteConsidering our situation in North Carolina and this country, I find myself supporting Soucek. Goss is also an exceptional leader, but I am seeing nothing from him or Cullie in their service to our state.
ReplyDeleteCullie was instrumental in the passage of the anti-bullying law to protect our children in school. How's that for starters?
