"In North Carolina, the office of 5th District GOP Rep. Virginia Foxx has estimated that most of the signs in the Tar Heel State run $2,500. Foxx led the Republican debate on the bill when it was brought to the House floor July 14 as an amendment to H.R. 1722....
"During the floor debate, Republicans portrayed the signage as propaganda...."
Of course it's propaganda. So what's your point, Madam Foxx?
O you who send out hundreds of thousands of pieces of slick propaganda at taxpayer's expense under your free "franking" privileges as a member of the House of Reps. The last figures we saw showed that Madam Foxx sent more than 1.6 million pieces of mail in 2005 and 2006, and she hasn't slacked off a bit since then. In 2006 alone, Foxx sent 785,415 pieces of mail at a cost of $164,548.
So, yes, she's just sooo concerned about wasting taxpayer money on costly propaganda!
Why you do stop being a liberal feminist?
ReplyDeleteWhy did you leave ASU?
How many times have you been arrested?
How many illegal immigrants have you employed?
Gawd this woman is an embarrassment!
So the Republicans spend hundreds of hours lying about how the stimulus failed to create jobs, and then they complain when money is spent to refute their lies. These are not nice people.
ReplyDeleteWhoever said they were? Read the "other site" and you'll see.
ReplyDeleteThis is typical behavior from Foxx who has done the same to Watauga County residents. Foxx thinks she is an elitest, that's for sure. She reminds me of Barbara Boxer demanding the General call her "Senator Boxer" because she had worked so hard to get we she was. These types of politicians are a sad example of what plauges our country. Perhaps we can remove both from their elitest positions via the ballot box this November.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Rico
You don't like it, have your lefty buddies in Congress STOP THE PRACTICE.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act sign that was at the new Applecart construction site? It has been removed for what reason.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Rico - Not to engage you in silly insult games, just a sincere question -
ReplyDeleteDo you think there might be a difference between a woman (Barbara Boxer) demanding that someone of high status show respect for a title she has earned vs a woman (Mrs. Foxx)insulting and demeaning someone of much lower rank?
I believe a person's quality shows through in how he or she treats people who are less powerful.
The military man Ms. Boxer insulted was due much more respect than was she. She does not put her life on the line to serve (in her mind rule) her country like he does. The title Senator is not a mark of respect any way. It is a job title.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - You said "The title Senator is not a mark of respect any way. It is a job title."
ReplyDeleteSo is the title of General. Suppose Senator Boxer had addressed the General as Mr.? If the Senator was courteous enough to address the General using his proper title, she was equally entitled to be addressed properly, no?
Brushfire,
ReplyDeleteI never engage in silly insulting posts, only meaningful discussion. Everything I say is serious and to the point. I do go a bit puerile however, when confronted with death threats, emotion or stereotyping, but I am always looking for deep thought, rational reasoning, and honest discussion.
At any rate, your question on the status thing. A Senator is generally considered much, much higher in status than a Brigadeer (one star) General. I watched (in abject horror)the video several times, and this general was addressing Ms. Boxer as "maam" per standard military protocol. How Boxer got it in her head that being called "maam" was beneath her dignity is a mystery.
More importantly, what Boxer did was to elevate her position to one of aristocracy. I have news for her. A Senator in my small mind, is far lower on the rung than the citizens he/she represents. How did we get to the point that being a Senator or Congresswoman (thinking of Foxx) gives you the right to be treated like royalty? The Congress and Senate should do what they do for FREE out of devotion to their country and the proletariet that elected them. Our elected representatives would laugh at what I am writing right now as they think they DESERVE to be treated like kings and queens!!!
With this being said, I believe Boxer and the equally vile, corrupt, and repugnant Foxx (and her henchman Aaron Whitener) are one and the same. They are out of touch elitests who walk all over the Brushfires and Ricos of the world on their way to glory, riches, prestige, self-indulgence, and greed. Both have no place representing hard working citizens of America who buckle down each and every day and make a go at keeping their heads above water. They no more care about Brushfire or Tricycle Lard than they do an ant crawling across the sidewalk.
This is where we have to say no in November. Vote away the Foxx's, Burrs, Boxers, Gilldebrands, etc. and put in their place independent thinkers capable of making decisions without thought to what is in it for them personally. Replacing political correctness with personal responsiblity and freedom would also be good places to start. Our political system is broken as is our spirit as a country. We need to thnk towards liberty, life, and the ability to pursue whatever happiness you wish.

I didn't mean to post it that many times. I had a computer malfunction and I, unlike Foxx or Boxer, take full responsiblity for my terrible mistake.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Rico - I watched the clip of Boxer asking the General to address her as Senator. It didn't seem like that much of a big deal. She wasn't ugly or mean about it as far as I could tell. My sense is that she has had to deal with so much sexism that she wants to make sure that her authority (vested in her by the voters) is recognized. I guess we should see if the General addressed the male senators as "Sir" or Senator.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I kind of agree with you on the rest of your post.
Excellant then, we have become kindred spirits for the moment.

I'll bet that sent a shiver down your spine!
I find it very "humerous" that Rico can spell "puerile," but not "excellent."
ReplyDeleteThe pedantic attacks continue. When you can't beat her, throw a few insults behind Anonymous postings!! Liberal sheep.

"Pedantic." Wow! Rico hit the dictionary to impress us!
ReplyDeleteBrushfire, I agree the other job titles are not signs of respect. Why then does Boxer think the term Senator is? She said she worked hard to be elected and deserved the respect. Her words, not mine. If she considered the title do describe her job and not an exalted position, it would not have mattered. Megalomania is the only logical answer. This is the same conceit of self as when Matt Robinson insisted on being called Dr.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - I disagree with you that job titles are not signs of respect. A job title (Senator, General, Doctor, etc) signals certain levels of responsibility and achievement. One of the most common ways to denigrate a person is to deny him or her the rightful form of address. Calling an adult male "boy" for instance, or an adult woman "sweetie" is a way bigots use to put people down. Calling the senator "Ma'am" is not a form of disrespect, but I can see how a woman in her position might be over-sensitive. In any case, I didn't think she was ugly or rude about it. She simply stated her preference as she has every right to do. It's really no big deal as far as I can tell.
ReplyDeleteIt is a big deal when she tries to embarrass someone publicly. She is the person that did not show respect.
ReplyDeleteIf you are worthy of respect, it will come to you. Those that demand it are seldom worthy of it.
She has every right in the world to insist she be addressed in a certain manner. We all do.
