South Carolina Republicans: This Is Your Party on Drugs

South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer, who is running for governor in the steps of disgraced Appalachian Trail hiker Mark Sanford, said in public that the school lunch program in his state is just like feeding stray dogs: those kids are just gonna hang around and breed more dogs:
"My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply.

"They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you've got to do is, you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better....

"I can show you a bar graph where free and reduced lunch has the worst test scores in the state of South Carolina. You show me the school that has the highest free and reduced lunch, and I'll show you the worst test scores, folks. It's there, period."

In South Carolina, 58 percent of students participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program.

While Mr. Bauer is worried about giving curs "ample food supply," we're wondering what cut off the oxygen supply to his brain.

The ignorance of the  Republican "haves" towards the "have nots" is unbounding. Poverty in America is at an all-time high. It amounts to 12.5% of the population or almost 36 million people. Here in NC, poverty has recently increased 1.6%; the South Carolina poor hold steady.  This is one  Republican "let them eat cake" candidate who needs to go down in his own flameout.

It's a shame no one insisted his grandmother not to procreate.

I'm sure André's corporate interest prevents him from seeing corporate welfare. The greedy corporate royalty want that money currently going to feed low income children diverted to CEO and CFO income.
Mr Bauer and most Republicans have a job assignment to deliver more taxpayer dollars corporate royalty.

And now you see why there has not been a clamor to impeach Sanford. Bauer is an idiot.
Sanford is an insensitive lout who thinks with his....Hell, we all know what he thinks with, but he is the lesser of two weasels.

  5. Right now the SC legilsature is looking to pass a "law" that they will only follow the laws they want to from teh Federal government. Why don't we let them sucede? I mean, it would a huge hit to them financially since for every $1 they send to Washington they get $1.35 back. We could save some money for other states that actually want it. And SC could go to hell.

Is there such a thing as a retro-active abortion?  I think this guy might qualify.

If SC wants to stop the poor from breeding they should support universal single payer health care, with access to abortion, for all.  But nooooo, can't have such socialistical ideas.  As I recall we had to fight a Civil War to keep SC from seceding a while back. I agree, let'em go this time. If they put a trnasit tax on all the Yankees driving through on I-95 on their way to and from Florida, they might cover a chunk their loss of federal revenue.

Hey, Sex is allowed if you are rich and white. It's just those lower classes who don't deserve the privilege.

  11. I just heard this morning that Scott Brown, the victor in the race in Massachusetts, said that his mother was on welfare.  I guess Andre would consider him to be a stray who should not have been given ample food and therefore encouraged to breed.

It is the parents responsibility to feed their children, not the state.

Why are you against parental responsibility?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why are you for punishing the children because their parents can't afford to give them lunch money?

There is a new system for posting comments here at WW, but one old rule should still apply.  Ignore Max!

This has nothing to do with friendship. I simply asked you to post a coherent statement. Read your posts back to yourself; they make little sense. And San Francisco CLOSED its bath houses. Don't shift the focus and try to make it about me.

Biker, that won't work. I'm sure Max reads the way he writes. The best chance is to have someone read it to him the way it is written.
Then again, I'm sure that the noise in his head is what makes it to the page. Never mind.
