The North Carolina Democratic Party is
staging an activist "caravan" in the eastern part of the state Aug. 10-12. Retail politics at its best:
Along the route, volunteers from across the state will work with local activists, registering voters, canvassing, performing community service projects, meeting with candidates and elected officials, and listening to the ideas and concerns of eastern North Carolinians.
We trust there will be additional "caravans" in other sections of the state, including in our own mountains. In fact, considering the heat, why didn't they
start in the mountains?
