Leaning "right on culture" and "left on economics" is a common viewpoint of Ivy League (and wannabe Ivy League) white privileged intellectuals who still want their racism and homophobia, but don't care for the whole conservative "trickle down" thing.<br /><br />Vance hasn't "found a new home" for his political views. He's simply tapping into something that was already there. He's closed-mouthed about funding for his campaign, but much of the money is coming from Peter Thiel and other Trump-backers, hoping his Appalachian "cred" and new-found beard and "aw shucks" way of talking to hide his Yale education will ride the same wave of racist populism that propelled Trump.<br /><br />There's nothing new worth analyzing about Vance.
