A new report from the State Board of Elections found as many as 613,000 voters, or 9.25 percent of the North Carolina's voters, may not have a state issued driver's license or identification card -- raising the stakes ahead of Republican efforts to push for voter ID legislation in the upcoming session. The new analysis, which compared Division of Motor Vehicles records to state voter lists, discovered that 53 percent of the voters in question are Democrats and a quarter are over age 65. A disproportionate share -- about 30 percent -- are black.

And your point is? All they have to do is get some ID which they should have anyway if they buy medicine, a gun, or drive a car. If 53% are Democrat, then almost as many are not.
What a ridiculous thread.
Anonymous, do you just stayed logged in to this site all the time so you can comment on every thread? Does the idea of "free elections" mean anything to you? Do you support issuing IDs to those that need them, at taxpayer expense? Who gets to decide which kinds of ID are valid or not?
That's right! Do you have a problem with that?
Does the idea of "free elections" mean anything to you? Yes.
Do you support issuing IDs to those that need them, at taxpayer expense? Yes
Who gets to decide which kinds of ID are valid or not? The legislature.
By the way there are a lot of people that post as Anonymous.
There may be a lot of people who post as Anonymous, but this particular Anon is partial to the phrase "And your point is?" which shows up in most of the posts. Even tho he/she is Anonymous, it's still easy to tell which Anon is posting, if they constantly use the same phrasing and terminology.
What do you propose to do about absentee ballots? How do you show your ID when you're mailing in a ballot?
Require a photo copy of the ID is you make the request by mail. Show the ID if you get it at the BOE.
You really think only one person uses a common phrase?
Even if it is true, what's your point?
The phrase isn't that common. And what the hell is YOUR point, by the way? :-)
That voter ID should be required. This is apparent to anyone that does not need reading comprehension classes.
