I emailed Mr. Goss a year ago about the legislature's increase in taxes, which he and Tarleton voted for, especially in this current economy, but he defended their actions.
The increase was a temporary increase in sales tax, with the money specifically targeted to keep from firing 3,000 teachers. He voted against making it permanent. He also voted against increasing the gas tax. So the mailings aren't "true", they're highly misleading in Mr. Goss' case.
If these guys had not voted for this fishing pier as others did, then that money could have been used for education. It it now time these men were out. Oh yes, they will defend their actions. It's time for a change.
Anon- The fishing pier was paid by recipts from the NC Aquarium fund. The funding for that was provided by a bipartisian vote that was voted on by EVERY REPUBLICAN that voted that day. Idiot.
Not the Aquarium "Fund", whatever that might be, but the receipts from the Aquarium which is located either on or next to the pier (I never get off the mountain, so I haven't seen its placement with my own eyes). "Receipts" is money from tickets. I haven't seen the aquarium in the budget, so it doesn't sound like tax money to me.

Does the N.C. Aquarium fund receive tax money? If so, taxpayers built the pier.
