Maybe they honestly don't realize they're doing it, but way too many "Christians" simply pick and choose quotes from the Bible and interpret that book to fit whatever their own world view is, or their own self-interest.

And whenever I hear a person speak as if he or she knows how or why God is doing anything I am just dumbfounded at the arrogance that implies. Maybe God is trying something with this amendment. Maybe he is trying to tell us something by having gay marriage legalized in many countries and states. Maybe he's unleashed Mitt Romney on us as some sort of punishment. Maybe he gave Pat Robertson cancer. When you start believing that you can interpret what God wants, what it really means is that you can believe anything you want, and use God's name to justify it. If I were a believer I think I'd call that blasphemy. Not Reallynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6194583.post-61706486524466444682012-03-28T20:44:51.937-05:002012-03-28T20:44:51.937-05:00Deborah,

Pastors are regularly reminding us that we must stay in God's word and prayer. God's word promises us adversity. And, He tells us how to cope. When it comes, the test is how we receive it and handle it. This article you post is an example of how the world is watching us and the necessity for us to do better.

I have personally found that with each attack on our marriage and family that it gets easier to recover because we are learning to rely on God for recovery and to focus on the purpose (notice I said learning).

God is working through this marriage amendment, whether it passes or not, to draw our attention to the current state of marriages and families. Yes. We obviously need to do better. Thank you for reminding us. And, it starts with protecting the sanctity of marriage and family. Ephesians tells us the relationship of a husband and wife is like the relationship of God and the church (the body): Christ's sacrificial love and the submission of the church.

None of us are without sin; only God is perfect. I am tested all of the time and I am the first to say that I fail miserably. I am a work in progress.

Peace.Deborah Greenenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6194583.post-21412661249385429542012-03-28T10:07:40.841-05:002012-03-28T10:07:40.841-05:00Can anyone please connect the dots for me and expl...Can anyone please connect the dots for me and explain exactly how gay marriage threatens marriage, or hurts anyone?
