The Rewards of Hating Government

Over at BlueNC, sydfynch is digging into the curious case of Virginia Foxx's wealth and how it's multiplied exponentially while she's been in Congress. For someone with a professed hatred of government at all levels, she's been doing pretty well living off its bounty.

The BlueNC blogger also provides a "property list" for Foxx, but it's very limited in scope, listing only the stuff she and her husband are on record owning in Watauga County. Doesn't list the several houses we know about in other counties of the 5th District (and out of state), including the one that the Foxxes recently put up for sale in the gated community in Davie County.

Dang! The Foxx is trying to buy up the whole county to make sure she is the only citizen in the county......

Max,

I guess you and I are the last two WataugaWatch regulars.

If the enthusiasm for WataugaWatch is mirrored by voter turnout in the 2010 elections, the Republicans are going to sweep every election. :(

What's this "You and Me Against the World" bullshit? Look over your shoulder. You'll see the BikerBard, Shyster, Opinionated, Bridle, RV, Liberal POV and a host of other "regulars." In fact, I consider you "irregular.'"

This new format doesn't exactly encourage immediate response. But even if written by chisel on stone, the Madam is a total piece of shit. Most all of us know it and maybe we've just run out of responses. Absolute disgust can get tiring.

Hey, I 'm still here.

Much Better!!! :)

The world is going to hell in a handbasket, and I thought Max and I were playing the 'last living human' game.

Do I need to say something really incendiary to wake you gals up?

Hehe.

Oh, Bridle... I need to figure out how to find you in the next couple of weeks, if you will still help me with that edible wild foods class?

Hey Mike. So much negativity has been expressed in our country lately that I decided not to say anything until I could think of something positive to say. An edible wild foods class sounds very positive.

Do you ever go to one of the coffee shops? We could meet at Higher Grounds or another one. I am free Friday afternoon.

I'm still trying to follow this blog too, especially now that election season is upon us. But this new format is very user-UNfriendly and discourages my participation. Can the comments be changed so that the first comments appear first and I can read them as I scroll DOWN the page?

How about Espresso News? It's supposed to be a beautiful day, and I'm sure my furry friend would enjoy her first 3 mile walk of the year!

Great. About 1:00 ish OK? What species or breed is your furry friend?

bridle said...

You are right. This format is not particularly easy to follow.

Bridle,

1:00 sounds great. She is big, white, and so strikingly beautiful that some people lose their ability to speak or move when they meet her for the first time. You'll recognize us immediately. :-)

Your confusion lies in the fact that it is too much government that is hated, not government. Overbearing government, intrusive government- and like that. Expensive and wasteful government, not the one described in the United States Constitution. As the Founders hated the King's government. They wanted a less intrusive government, not no government which is why they created a government. Are you less confused now?

I believe Cheney/Rove/Bush wrote the book on "expensive and wasteful government."
